FIRST ANNUAL NORTH AMERICAN MEETINGS INDUSTRY DAY

RALLYING TOGETHER TO CREATE AWARENESS

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (Wednesday, April 15, 2015) Meet AC and the Atlantic City hospitality community is excited to unite with the meetings industry across the United States, Canada, and Mexico to celebrate the first annual North American Meetings Industry Day (NAMID).

Leaders from across the meetings and events industry are coming together to support the first annual North American Meetings Industry Day (NAMID) on Thursday, April 16, 2015. Events around the country are led by the Meetings Mean Business (MMB) coalition, which represents leaders from across the meetings, conferences, conventions, incentive travel, trade shows and exhibitions industries, who have united behind a common goal: to showcase the real impact meetings and events have on businesses, economies and communities.

Meet AC in partnership with Caesars Entertainment and Atlantic City’s hospitality industry will rally together to create awareness throughout the community about North American Meetings Industry Day (NAMID).

“Meetings and conventions helps to support the overall tourism industry in Atlantic City,” said Jim Wood, President and CEO for Meet AC.  “As the meetings segment increases, it means more jobs, more delegate spending in Atlantic City and overall more non-gaming growth as Atlantic City continues to diversify its tourism portfolio.”

Meetings Mean Business stands behind its name. Meet AC’s meeting and convention business has been on the rise and has seen a significant growth in revenue. In 2014, Meet AC was responsible for $190 million in delegate spending, which does not include what was booked at the Atlantic City casino and non-casino properties. Meet AC expects a 10 percent increase in revenue growth this year just from the meetings and convention segment. These numbers reflect in a positive way for the Atlantic City meeting industry and economy.
