ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (Tuesday, April 4, 2017) The 68th annual Atlantic Builders Convention  (ABC) begins today at the Golden Nugget Casino, Hotel & Marina and continues tomorrow at the Atlantic City Convention Center in Atlantic City, NJ.

ABC, hosted by the New Jersey Builders Association (NJBA), is the largest building industry trade show in the Northeast, drawing approximately 6,500 participants including residential and commercial builders, developers, remodelers and subcontractors, plus a variety of manufacturers, suppliers, and consulting professionals. The convention features hundreds of exhibitors showcasing the latest products and services to a large and diverse audience of industry leaders. A wide variety of educational seminars offer attendees up-to-date information about the latest market trends, government policies and technical developments in the industry.

This year's convention features several key events including the highly anticipated annual Economic Forecast on Wednesday, April 5, in Hall D, Atlantic City Convention Center. The Economic Forecast will feature industry leading speakers: Kevin C. Gillen, Ph.D., Senior Research Fellow, Lindy Institute for Urban Innovation, Drexel University; Steve LaTerra, Managing Director, Meyers Research LLC; Joseph F. Riggs, Group President, K. Hovnanian Homes; Steven A. Santola, Esq., Executive Vice President/General Counsel, Woodmont Properties; Christopher Gaffney, Group President, Toll Brothers Inc.; and Christiana Foglio, CEO and Founder, Community Investment Strategies.

A new addition to ABC this year is the Green Neighborhood, where builders, contractors, practitioners, and vendors with expertise in green infrastructure will locate and share expertise on stormwater management for development projects in rapid-fire consulting sessions. This year the ABC will also be utilizing a new host hotel, the Golden Nugget Casino, Hotel & Marina.

The ABC will also offer educational opportunities for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits which will be available in the following disciplines: AIA - Architects, AICP - Professional Planners, CLE - Attorneys, and CPC – Engineers.

Local Atlantic City businesses are expected to greatly benefit from the ABC convention over three days. The estimated economic impact is expected to reach more than $1.8 million. In addition, more than 1,200 hotel room nights have been contracted by convention center visitors throughout the week.

The Exhibit Floor will be open from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM on Wednesday, April 5th and 6th, and will showcase the latest designs, products and services offered in the building industry.
