Keynote speakers:
-Tammie Souza, NBC10’s First Alert Weather Chief Meteorologist will discuss Communicating Climate Risks through Media
-Sam Daley-Harris, author of Reclaiming Our Democracy

WHY: With the executive branch no longer leading on initiatives to fight climate change, Congress must step up to enact effective solutions like the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act.

Executive director Mark Reynoldsstates “Such solutions will need bipartisan support, and we need widespread grassroots support to create the political will for a livable world.”

“We can no longer wait for someone to fix our pollution mistakes in the future. WE are the future. The future is NOW, and together, we have the POWER to organize and enact a solution. The first step in our solution is to put a price on fossil fuel extraction so that we can gradually wean ourselves off our fossil fuel dependency. This solution creates the space to ramp up renewable, clean, and highly energy-efficient technologies for a bright, healthy, and prosperous future. We need your help to bridge the divide in our nation and to ensure a livable future for ourselves and our children.”

-Jaclynne Polcino, Stockton University '19, and Carly Griffiths, Stockton University '16

Our country has been gambling with our climate and the future of young people like Jaclynne and Carly.

It’s time to take on the challenges and opportunities together to reclaim our democracy and pass effective, fair, bipartisan climate legislation!

Media is welcome to attend this event, and the organizers are happy to arrange interviews with local climate advocates, students, or our keynote speakers. We can also provide images and quotations after the event.
